How to Turn On/Off User Account Control in Window 7 & Vista

UAC needs to be turned off initially so TurboStats can register some OCX files and make registry entries for program defaults.  After you run the software and access all screens once, you can turn UAC back on.

Windows 7  if you need additional help then watch this Video

  1. Click Start and then type in [ uac     ] in the search box (see picture below)


  2. or Click Start and then open Control Panel.
  3. In the Control Panel click User Accounts and Family Safety.
  4. Click User Accounts. 


  5. Next click on Change User Account Control Settings


  6. Drag the slider down to Never notify

  7. Press OK   then Reboot

 

Windows Vista

User Account Control (UAC) can help you prevent unauthorized changes to your computer. It works by prompting you for permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as installing software or changing settings that affect other users.

  1. Click Start and then open Control Panel.
  2. In the Control Panel, click User Accounts and Family Safety.
  3. Click User Accounts.
  4. Click Turn User Account Control on or off.
    Note: If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation

  5. Uncheck  the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer

  6. Click OK then Reboot
