It's Official, The Pit Can Hit. Peach Pit came out swinging Sunday putting up 21 runs on 31 hits. In a back and forth game with 4 lead changes Peach Pit found themselves down 4 in the top of the 7th 13-9. The good news was, the top of the order was up and Mike Koonjy started the inning off with a single, manager Ralph Avallone followed with a single and Jason Crimmins singled in Mike. Brian Koonjy walked to load the bases and Brian Kelly sacrificed in the second run, allowing all runners to move up. With one out and the tying run on second Tony Garrett rips a clutch single allowing both runners to score, game tied 13-13. Bada Bing failed to score in the bottom of the 7th so the game goes into extra innings. This time, the bottom of the Peach Pit order would get things started. Mike Amoia lead off with a single, Setve Horowitz singled and Ken Crimmins singled in the first run. With one out Mike Koonjy singled in another run and so did Jason Crimmins and Brian Koonjy and Peach Pit is up by 5 and their not finished. With two outs Tony Garrett doubles and knocks in two more, Jason Hamberger singles in Tony and Peach Pit takes an 8 run lead into the bottom of the 8th. The first two batters for Bada Bing make outs then Jim Halpin and Rick Beyer single and then bam, a flash of lightning appears and all the players scatter off the field. Bada Bing was given the opportunity to either finish the game the next time they played or take the loss which they consented to. So Peach Pit gets their second win of the season 21-13. The were many players from both teams who hit well today. From Bada Bing Jim Halpin was 4-5 and Len Tarnoff and Ed Russnow were both 3-4. From Peach Pit Mike Koonjy, Ralph Avallone, Jason Crimmins, Brian Koonjy, Tony Garrett, Mike Amoia, Steve Horowitz and Ken Crimmins who knocked in the game winning run, all had 3 hits. Jason crimmins and Tony Garrett both had 4 RBI's as well.
