Lusty's Left Stranded in 9-6 Loss to Martini's. The Lusty Leopards outhit the Martini's 15-12 but stranded 9 runners and found themselves trailing by 8 in the top of the 7th. The Martini's got on the board quickly when leadoff batter Brian Godau doubled and scored on a fielder's choice by Frank McNally. Neither team scored in the 2nd. Lusty tied the game in the top of the 3rd when Nick Adams singled, Kevin Petry singled and Keith Blicht singled to bring in Nick. Score tied 1-1. In the bottom of the 3rd the Martini bats awoke when the leading supplier of Bruce Dostil trading cards, Christian Hansen, led off with a single. Then with one out the hot Brian Godau(2-3) doubled again to right center to score a run. John Sanzone singled scoring two more, Bob Fass walked, Frank McNally singled to score John, Frank Coppola walked and Frank scored the 5th run of the inning on a fielder's choice by Bruce Dostil. Martini's lead 6-1. Neither team scored again till the bottom of the 6th when the Martini's Frank McNally(2-3) singled and moved to third on Jared Bruno's (3-3) double down the line. Frank Coppola also doubled scoring Frank and Jared and New Guy Michael Bedell singled up the middle to score Frank and give the Martini's a commanding 9-1 lead. Last chance for the Leopards and they make a run for it. Mike Sabet singles and Jason Benson reaches on error. John Machinski singles to load the bases for the top of the order. After an out Kevin Petry singles to score one. Clay Petry also singles scoring another and Keith Blicht bangs one deep into the courts scoring two more. Brad Bennis walks and Ryan Coletti singles scoring Clay and bringing the tying run to the plate with one out and the bases loaded. But David Bornstein's liner to short was snagged by Brian Godau who picked the runner off second to end the game. The Martini's win 9-6 and advance to the semi finals to play the Playaz the following game.
