Rail's Gets In The Zone With 5-3 Win Over Columbia Inn. John Sanzone was all zoned in. He led Rail's with a 3-3 night, collecting 3 of Rail's 5 RBI's and finishing the season with an impressive 788 average, just one hit shy of overtaking Don Jr for the league batting title. Columbia needed the win to lock in the number 2 seed so they were loaded while Rail's was playing with only 9 including new Super Sub Mark Spotto. Rail's batted first and picked up a run when Pat McNamara singled and scored on a double by John Sanzone. Columbia Inn picked up a triple by Mike Cobuzio but they don't score. Rail's doesn't scored in the 2nd and Columbia's Rich Cobuzio leads off with an opposite field HR to tie the score. Rails loads the bases in the 3rd but doesn't score. In the 4th Columbia gets a single by David Drillings(2-3) and a double by Mike Cobuzio(3-3). Then David scored on a fielder's choice, Rich Cobuzio is walked and the next two batters make outs. Columbia is up 2-1. Sub Mark Spotto is also zoned in, batting lefty Mark was 3-4 with two runs scored. Mark led off the 5th with a single, Brian Godau singled, Pat McNamara singled to load the bases for John Sanzone. John sacks in a run to tie it and Bruce Dostal(3-4) singled to give Rail's a 3-2 lead. Columbia doesn't score in the bottom and Rail's sub does it again in the 6th. After Michael Bedell singled, Mark Spotto singled again with one out. Brian Godau singled in Mike and with two outs John Sanzone singled in run number 5. Rail's leads 5-2. Columbia is up in the bottom of the 7th and Rich Cobuzio gets on by error, Kevin Zabransky singled and Wally Kamienski singled to score Rich. So Columbia Inn has the tying run on first with one out but the next two batters make outs and Rail's hangs on for the upset. If Olde Towne wins by 6 or more runs on Sunday they will take the 2nd seed and a first round bye.
