Tarlowe & Koonjy Are Perfect As Red Barn Tunes Out The Station 16-12. Big day for the Tarnoff Family as Jake Tarnoff joins brother Trevor in his first LVC softball game with Dad. The Station struck first with two outs when Don Trifari Jr and Sr both single and Marty Eagan singles putting the Station up 1-0. Red Barn responded with 7 in the bottom with 6 straight singles by Mike Koonjy, Austin Tarlowe(4-4), Jim Halpin, Brian Koonjy(4-4), Nick Adams(3-3) and Len Tarnoff, then with 2 outs Christopher Koonjy singled in the 6th run and the 7th run scored on an error. Red Barn leads 7-1. The Station is empty in the 2nd and the Barn picks up two more when Austin Tarlowe singled, Jim Halpin singled and Brian Koonjy doubled off the tip of Marty Eagan's glove scoring one, then Nick Adams sacked in the 2nd run and Red Barn is up 9-1. The Station tunes in 5 in the 3rd after a lot of static. Ralph Aiello singled and Don Jr singled to right field and the Red Barn relay throw to 3rd sails out of play. Ralph Aiello scores and when Don Jr advanced to 3rd the Barnyard got noisy insisting that the batter should only get 2nd since it was a relay throw and an infielder threw it out of play. It finally got straightened out and JR went back to 3rd. Marty Eagan singled in Don, Jared Kruger followed with a single, Dave Richmond singled in a run and with two outs Larry Friedman singled in the 5th run to close the gap to 9-6. Red Barn doesn't score in the bottom and the Station starts the 4th strong when Ralph Aiello singles and Don Jr rips a ball off Ralph's foot while he was still on first. After another discussion it was ruled that the ball was dead since it didn't go past the infielders so the Station has runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs but they fail to score. In the bottom of the 4th Hadar Sieradzky(2-2) singles and with two outs Austin Tarlowe knocks a double in the courts for a run. Jim Halpin singled scoring Austin and Brian Koonjy lofts a deep fly to center that Marty Eagan makes a long run and the ball tips off his glove for an inside the park home run. Red Barn is up 13-6. In the 5th Dave Richmond doubled, moved to 3rd on a FC and scored on Larry Friedman's sac fly. Red Barn matches that run when Pat Russo singled and scored on a single by Jake Tarnoff. Red Barn is up 14-7. Things get interesting in the 6th after Don Jr leads off with a double, Don Sr singled, then a fielder's choice scores Jr. Jared Kruger singled, Dave Richmond singled and Mike Levine singled to load the base for Larry Friedman who singles to score a run bringing the score to 14-11. But for the second inning in a row the Station ends the inning with runners on and Don Jr on deck. Austin Tarlowe leads off the bottom of the 6 with a triple but Jim Morris nabs a liner down and third for a double play. Brian Koonjy hits a shot to right center that Jared Kruger makes a great diving catch on but the ump said the ball hit the ground. Nick Adams singles, Len Tarnoff singled off the pitchers glove scoring a run and Jesse Ferro singles to score another. The Barn is up 5 16-11. Don Jr lines one that Jesse Ferro makes a great catch on, Don Sr singles, Marty Eagan doubles over the left fielders head scoring Don Sr, Jared Kruger singled but the next two batter's fly out. Red Barn wins 16-12. For Red Barn Austin Tarlowe was 4-4 with a double and triple, Brian Koonjy was 4-4 with a HR and 4 RBI's and Hadar was 2-2 with a walk. For The Station, playing with only 9, Don Jr was 4-5 and Marty Eagan was 3-5 with 4 RBI's.
