The Station Rocks Angelo's to the Tune of 11-6. The Station was back on the air this weekend after a record 4 week long layoff. They were missing their top DJ (Donnie Junior) and only fielded 8 regular players. Michael Angelo's also had 9 players and were missing their top hitting leadoff batter Jeff Axelrad. The Station was all tuned in from Friday night's game and struck quickly for 6 runs in the first two innings. Leadoff batter Jim Morris dropped a ball just behind short for a single. Andy Reiser(3-5) was back for his first game in over 6 weeks and singled. Then Don Sr singled off the fence and Jim Morris just beat the relay home. Marty Eagan sacks in a run on a great play by David Plishka in center. Lance Zacker singled moving Don to third and Mike Levine gets a clutch 2 out single to score Don. In the bottom of the 2nd Jim Morris singled with one out, Andy Reiser lined a single to right, Don Sr singled up the middle (sorry Jon) to load the bases. Marty Eagan drove in one run with a fielder's choice, then Lance Zacker drops a big double right on the 1st base line for two more runs. The Station is up 6-0. Angelo's gets on the board after a leadoff error, David Plishka singled and Keith Blicht singled to right. Brian Cass knocks in a second run on a fielder's choice and it's 6-2 the Station. The Station gets those runs right back after sub Mike Koonjy finally figured out that wooden bat thing, then with two outs Andy Reiser gets his third single of the game and Don Sr hits the left center gap for a triple, just off the glove of the streaking, (OK, would you believe jogging) left fielder Abe Heller. The Station is up 8-2 and got a little sloppy in the field with 3 errors in the next two innings, but Marty Eagan's great payback catch robs David Plishka of an inside the park HR and Angelo's fails score. In the 5th Don Sr triples again and scored on a single down the left field line by the versatile Mr Lance Zacker. The Station is up 11-2 but faces some static in the 6th. Jon Mach drills a single to right and with one out Ron Liebowitz works a walk. Don Rothrock delivers a big single down the right field line to load the bases for the top of the order. Dave Plishka delivers for Angelo's with a triple to the right center gap, but Marty Eagan hits Jim Morris for the cutoff in short right center and Jim makes a "heller" of a throw home to nip Abe Heller at the plate. Bob Plishka doubled to right to score Dave and a fourth run scores on an error. The Station is up only 5, 11-6 but they hold on for a 1,2,3 7th and pickup their 2nd win in 2 days moving them up the playoff charts. Lance Zacker and Don Trifari Sr were both 4-4 with 3 RBI's and David Plishka was 3-4 for Michael Angelo's.
