10-10 Doesn't Win in Softball. Tito's and the Station were both playing with 9 but the gaps in the outfield didn't have much of an impact on this one. Tito's Mark Davis(5-5) singled in the first , Paul Martino singled moving Mark to third but he doesn't score. In the bottom Dave Richmond singled and with one out Lance Zacker singled. Don Trifari doubled to score one, then Jim Morris singled in a second run. The Station is up 2-0. In the second with two outs Adam Handler reached on error, Ryan Coletti walked, Shaun Spielberger singled in Adam, Mark Davis singled to tie the game at 2. The Station doesn't score in the bottom and Tito's gets two more in the third when Temple Houston doubled to center, Jason Benson(3-5) singled, Jerry Fragetti singled to score Temple, Ryan Coletti singled to score Jason and Tito's is up 4-2. Again the Station doesn't score and Tito's rolls up two more. The hot Mark Davis singled again, Clay Petry tripled to deep left center, Paul Martino hits a sac fly and Tito's takes a 6-2 lead. The Station finds their tune again in the 4th when Larry Friedman gets a one out single, Dave Richmond singled and Jared Kruger singled to load the bases with one out. After an infield fly Don Trifari hit a line drive down the first base line that curves back to towards the right fielder running over. The ball tips his glove and rolls to the fence and three runs score. Ralph Aiello singled to score Don from 3rd and it tie 6-6. Neither team scored in the 5th and Tito's picks up one in the 6th after Mark Davis doubled and Temple Houston hit a ball that went over the charging outfielder's head for a double. Tito's is up 7-6. In the bottom of the 6th Jared Kruger hit a one out single, Lance Zacker singled Jared to 2nd. Don Trifari lined out to right, this time right at Temple Houston bringing up Ralph Aiello with two outs, tying run at second. Ralph gets a clutch single to score Jared from 2nd and it's tie score heading into the 7th. With two outs Ryan Coletti doubled but didn't score. The Station can win with a run but goes down, 1,2,3. In the 8th Mark Davis singled and Clay Petry singled and takes 2nd on the throw to third. Tito's has 2nd and 3rd with no outs and the Station elects to walk Paul Martino to load the bases. The next batter grounds to the pitcher and they get Clay at home. Then Jason Benson hit a fly ball to center that Jared couldn't see and it goes over his head for a double scoring two runs. Jerry Fragetti hits a sac fly and Tito's is up by 3, 10-7 and it's getting pretty dark. Jared Kruger leads off with a single, Lance Zacker singled and Don Trifari walked to load the bases with no outs. Ralph Aiello singled (his kids were cheering) and Jared Kruger scored to bring up Mike Levine with the game on the line and bases loaded. Mike hits a short fly behind second that the Shaun Spielberger ran back to try to make a play, there was no infield fly because you didn't know if it could be caught. Shaun almost makes a great play but the ball falls out and Don Trifari was way off the bag at second and gets to third without a play. They try to throw the runner out at home and the ball goes over the catcher's head and rolls down the third base line and Don scored from 3rd to tie the game at 10, way to go Mike! The next two batters ground out to the pitcher and the umpires call the game for darkness. 10-10 doesn't win.
