The Inn is Out: Rail's over Columbia Inn 9-7. The Sanman John Sanzone tosses another win for Rail's and Bruce Dostal is now saving his energy for hitting with a 3-4 night and 4 RBI's to lead Rails. Rail's leadoff batter Brian Godau got things started in the 1st with a single and John Sanzone surprised Columbia with an opposite field triple to score the games 1st run. Bruce Dostal singled home John, Jared Bruno singled and Rich Heim singled in the 3rd run, Rail's leads 3-0. Columbia Inn got a triple from Mike Cobuzio(2-3) and another triple by Rick Beyer to cut the lead to 3-1. Neither team scored in the 2nd. In the 3rd with two outs and a man on Rich Heim singles again and manager Michael Bedell blasted a triple to dead center scoring two more. Rail's leads 5-1. Columbia gets one back after Kevin Jr walked, Jason Dickert singled and Jonathan Drillings singled to score Kevin, Rail's 5-2. Rail's keeps scoring after a Columbia error with one out brings up Pat McNamara who singled, John Sanzone singled and Bruce Dostal singled to deep right scoring three runs and Bruce advances to third on a throwing error where Bob Fass sacks him home. Rail's is up 9-2. Columbia starts to perk up after Rick Beyer singled and Rich Cobuzio triples in the Sanzone gap, Eamon Loughran sacks in Rich but that's it. Rail's is up 9-4 but their bats go quiet. Columbia doesn't take advantage in the 5th but they put up 3 in the 6th after Jonathan Drillings singled and Mike Cobuzio lifts a high homer over the right center fence. Rick Beyer drive a triple by a sliding Bruce Dostal and scores on a sac fly by Rich Cobuzio. Rail's lead us cut to 9-7 and they don't score in the 7th. Can Columbia rally back down two? With one out Kevin Zabransky rips a shot down 3rd that Rich Heim makes a great stop on for the 2nd out. A muff in right center gives Columbia another shot but John Sanzone scoops up the final bean for another bitter, hard to swallow loss to Rails. Rail's keeps their season alive and plays the Station Saturday.
