A costly win for the Headliners as Mike Metz pulls his hamstring in the last inning running the bases. John Boeckel (3-4) sparked several Headliners rallies including his leadoff single in the 1st where he scored on a two out, two run single by Casey Nix to give the Liners a 2-0 lead. Rooney's finals gets on the board in the 3rd when Joel Orris led off with a single, Tony Garrett singled, Chris Capobianco singled to load the bases for rookie Eric Stivers who singled to score two runs. They add another after rookie Brad Hartung singled and take the lead 3-2. That didn't last long as the Headliners added two more in the 3rd when Dave Kaiser singled, John Boeckel and Dave Plishka both singled and Mike Metz was walked to score a run. Josh Simon hit a sac fly and the lead is 4-3. Roonies gets two lead off singles in the 4th, loads the bases but can't score and Headliners blow it open with 7 more runs. After a lead off walk Malichi Metz doubled off the right field fence, followed by 6 more head liners. Rooney's gets a few back in the 5th but the Liners cruse to a 13-8 win.
