Game Highlights

The Bacon is Hot and the Mets Get Toasted 16-7. Cocchio Grandslam Puts This One Away in the 5th. Ralph Aiello(2-3) has seemed to find his spot in the lineup. The Macon lead off batter started the game with another single up the middle and Ken O'Brien(2-3) singled and moved to 2nd on an error. Jon Cocchio(4-4) wasted no time putting Macon on the board with a single. Jason Crimmins(3-4) singled in another, Steve Deblasio singled in the 3rd run, that's five Macon hits in a row. Then with one out Chris Armelino singled in run 4 and his dad sacked in run 5. Macon is up 5-0 after 1. The Mets get on the board in the 2nd when, you guessed it, Rob Thomas led with a single. Pete "pushups" DeFrank(3-4) singled, Matt Siekierka singled to load the bases for Kevin Sabransky who singled in 2 runs. David Plishka singled and the 3rd run scored on a throwing error. Macon is up 5-3. Macon captain Danny Fariello led off the bottom of the 2nd with a triple and score on a sac fly by Ken O'Brien. Macon 6-3 after 2. Mets miss an opportunity in the 3rd after Derek Lynn hit a one out triple and score on a single by Rob Thomas. Pete DeFrank singled but they can't score so it's Bacon 6-4 after 3. With two outs in the 4th Dave Plishka(2-3) singled and scored on a single by Rick Beyer with the help of a throwing error. The Macon lead is just 1 6-5 and the new ball comes in and Macon crushes it. With one out leadoff hitter Ralph Aiello singled and the next batter lined out. Jon Cocchio singled and Jaons Crimmins doubled to right scoring Ralph. Steve Deblasio singled in another and Brian Guatta surprises everyone with a 3 run homer over the right center fence. Macon is now up 11-5. Mets get two back in the 5th when Derek Lynn, Pete DeFrank and Matt Siekierka all single. Yes Rob Thomas somehow made an out. Sammer Sawe had an RBI single and it's. 11-7 and the Mets are not out of this game yet. But in the bottom of the 5th Mark Armelino leads with a single, Danny Fariello singled and Ralph Aiello walked to load the bases. Ken O'Brien singled in one then Bam, Jon Cocchio lifts a high fly that's going, going and clears the fence for a grand slam to put Bacon up 16-7 and no team scored after that. The win knocks the Mets out of first and now the Pandas and Bacon are tied for the 1 spot. BTW: Was that Pete DeFrank doing pushups during the field prep clip on Twitter?
