Cheers Hits the Double Double. The hot Cheers club takes on #1 MacLarens and it all came down to one big inning. MacLaren's jumped ahead 2-0 when lead off batter David Drillings singled, followed by a Jon Weiner double that scored David and a Lance Zacker double that scored Jon. But Cheers answers back in the bottom when Mike Cobuzio singled, Mark Armelino singled and a throwing error scored Mike. Rich Cobuzio sacked in Mark, then the hot Bob Plishka(3-4) singled in David. Cheers leads 3-2. In the third David Drillings leads off again, this time with a double. After an error David scores and Gary Drillings singles in another; MacLarens is up 4-3. Didn't last long, after two outs Bob Plishka singles and scores on a double by Paul "Mayday" Martino who scored on a single by Eamon Laugham to put Cheers back up 4-3. Neither team scored till the bottom of the 5th when Cheers has a big inning. With one out Rich Cobuzio triples and scores on a single by Bob Plishka. Paul Martino singled followed by another big hit by Eamon Lougham(2-3) this time a double. Nick Agnoli follows Eamon's double with a double. Then Ken Nemeth follows Nick's double with a double of his own scoring Nick and Cheers is up 10-4. They pickup another in the 6th off another double double, this time it was Dave Plishka's two out double off the fence, followed by Rich Cobuzio's double over the fence. That's 3 double, doubles and a Cheers win 11-4. For MacLaren's John Weiner, David Drillings and Marty Eagan each had 2 hits.
