Alibi Gets Gunned Down by the Leopards 8-6. Another heartbreak loss for the Alibi Room. Alibi was trailing 7-6 in the 5th when Clay Petry gunned down Alibi's sub at the plate trying to tie it. Three runners were gunned down at the plate in this game. The game started with Alibi jumping out to a 6-0 lead, scoring 2 in the 1st with two outs when Brian Cass singled, Adam Steckelman walked, then Jesse Ferro(3-4) singled in the first run and Jeff Shupack singled in the 2nd. Neither team score in the 2nd. In the bottom of the third the Leopards threatened after Mike Sabet walked, Clay Petry walked, Nick Adams singled to load the bases but Mike Sabet was gunned down at home trying to score on a sac fly to center by Keith Blicht. Alibi still leads 2-0. In the 4th Jon Mach gets things started with a single, moves to third on a single by Joel Orris and scored on a Fielder's choice by Rich Citron. With two outs Alex Lieberman singled, Brian Cass was walked and Adam Steckelman comes through with a big 2 run single. Then Jesse Ferro rips his third single of the game scoring Brian and Alibi goes up 6-0. Dave Schachman leads off the third with a triple for the Leopards, Dave Bornstein follows with a triple of his own, Kevin Petry singles in the 2nd run. Ryan Coletti works a walk, Matt Hall(2-3) singles, Mike Sabet's comebacker to the pitcher resulted in a run scoring by error. Then John Machiski rips a deep two run scoring single to left center and the Leopards are down by one. Clay Petry hits a deep sac to left, tying the game 6-6. Nick Adams hit a fly with a lot of spin that drop in front of the left fielder for a single and Keith Blicht smacks a double into the courts scoring the go ahead run. Leopards are up 7-6. In the 5th sub Ralph Aiello singles, Joel Orris singled and with two outs Alex Lieberman laces a ball to center that Clay Petry scopes up and fires a perfect one hopper to Mike Sabet at home to nip sub Ralph Aiello tryng to tie the score. The Leopards add another run in the bottom of the 6th when Matt Hall leads off with a triple to right center and scores on a single by Mike Sabet. Then Clay Petry hits a deep triple to right center, Clay was unsure if he should proceed to third and Mke Sabet is forced to try to score but is thrown out at home by Rich Citron. Alibi fails to score in the 7th and the Leopards win a close one 8-6. For the Leopards Nick Adams was 3-4, Dave Bornstein, Kevin Petry and Matt Hall were 2-3 and John Machiski had 2 RBI's in the win. For Alibi Jesse Ferro was near perfect going 3-4 and Joel Orris and Alex Lieberman had 2 hits in the loss.
