Puleo's Brick Oven Smokes Red Barn 22-14. Puleo's Oven was hot tonight as they combined for 30 hits and 22 runs including a big 3rd inning where they plated a party of 10. Both teams were playing with one sub each in this 9 vs 9 contest. Chuck Puleo got things going in leading off the first with a single, Mark Spotto reached on error and Al Puleo doubled scoring Chuck, another error and a RJ Leonard single scored two more. Rookie Vince Wolleon singled, Dave Kaiser and Steve Bollander both knocked in a runs on a fielder's choice and Puleo's takes a 5-0 lead. For Red Barn Nick Adams walked and with two outs Mike Koonjy singled, Nick Adams scored on a fielding error and Chris Koonjy knocked in the second run with a single. Puleo's lead is cut to 5-2. Neither teams scored in the 2nd and in the top of the third Puleo's RJ Leonard's fires up the team with a triple. Vince Wolleon singles in RJ and with two outs Steve Bollander keeps the inning alive with a single. Sub Greg George singled and Chuck Puleo doubles in three runs. Al Puleo singled scoring another run, Adam Steckelman singled and when the main course was over Puleo's is up 15-2. There was lots of scorekeeping issues this game so the scoresheet could not be printed. Red Barn chipped away and picked up 6 in the bottom of the 5th to close the gap to 15-13 but Puleo's breaks out the dessert menu and pulls away with 7 more runs. Mark Spotto and RJ Leonard were both 5-6 for Puleo's while Mike Koonjy and Austin Tarlowe were both 4-5 with 3 RBI's for Red Barn.
