The Station Rides The Reiser-Levine Line To First Win. The Station rallies back to pickup a much needed win over Michael Angelo's 9-6. Brian Cass's 1st inning bomb put Michael Angelo's up 2-0 after a leadoff single by Jeff Axelrad. In the top of the 2nd The Station's Lance Zacker(3-3) smacks a leadoff double and with two outs advanced to third on a single by manager Dave Richmond. Then Andy Reiser (3-3) lines a single to center scoring Lance. Angelo's is up 2-1. Neither team scored again till the 4th when Lance Zacker started another Station rally. Marty Eagan followed Lance with a single of his own, Jared Kruger had a productive out that advanced both runners, with one out Dave Richmond (2-3) rips a single by short for one run, then the Reiser Line comes in again with another RBI single, putting The Station up 3-2 and they're not done yet. With two outs and runners on 1st and 2nd, Mike Levine delivers the big blow. Michael Angelo's put on a big left field shift and Mike takes a detour and lines a double into an empty right field (2nd time in two games that Mike goes opposite), scoring both Dave Richmond and Andy Reiser for a 5-2 lead. In the bottom of the 4th Jeff Axelrad works a walk followed by a patented Brian Cass single to right. Then after a strikeout Bob Plishka singles to right center scoring a run. The Station makes a big error on a nice play by Andy Reiser who throws to second for the double play but the ball is dropped before the transfer and both runners are safe. Eamon Loughrun makes them pay with a two run single to left, knotting the game at 5-5. The Station's Ralph Aiello leads off with a single to start the 5th, Don Trifari Jr doubles in the courts, Don Sr hits a deep fly to right center scoring one and moving Jr to third. Then Lance Zacker sacks in another run for a 7-5 Station lead. In the bottom Jon Mach and Cliff Berliner both single but don't score. The Station checks in another run in the 6th when Andy Reiser doubles over the right fielders head and scores on an error off the bat of Mike Levine, the Station is up 8-5. Michael Angelo's Jeff Axelrad (2-2) singled again and scored on a double by Mike Citron that painted the right field line. Top of the 7th and the Stations leads 8-6. Don Jr gets that run back with a deep HR to right center and the Station finally sees their winning train come in with a hard fought 9-6 win. Andy Reiser had a great day for the Station, collecting 3 hits in 3 atbats with two key RBI's. Lance Zacker stays hot with a perfect 3-3 day and a sac fly to go with it, and Mike Levine keeps his opposite field hitting streak alive. For Michael Angelo's Jeff Axelrad was perfect at 2-2, Brian Cass was 2-3 and pitcher Jon Mach was 2-3.
