Puleo's Brick Oven Runs Out Of Toppings in 18-8 loss. Harrigan's came out firing and takes out the only unbeaten team left in the oven. Joe Gianforte had a monster night going 5-5 with 4 RBI's, while sparking a key 1st inning rally with a lead off single. Brad Bennis singled and the Schach attack is back when Dave Schachman doubled in two runs. With two outs Tony Garrett singles to score Dave and Harrigan's Oven was cooking with a 3-0 lead. Puleo's picks up a few slices of their own in the bottom when Chuck Puleo leads off with a single, Mark Spotto singled, Al Puleo sacked in Chuck and with two outs RJ Leonard (4-5) doubled. Then the big blow by rookie Ryan Goodrich knocks in two more to tie it 3-3. In the 2nd Harrigan's keeps the heat on when manager Deron Green reached by error, Ben Alkin singled and Joe Gianforte puts on the apron and slices a triple in the right center gap scoring two more. Brad Bennis sacks in Joe and Harrigan's is up by 3. Puleo's brings out the wood in the bottom when sub Clay Petry singled and with two outs Mark Spotto flips one over the left field fence closing the gap to 6-5. Neither teams scored in the 3rd. In the 4th Harrigan's lead off batter Ralph Avallone cooks one up that was too hot to handle and Joe Gianforte tops that with some double sauce. Brad Bennis is intentionally walked to load the pie for Dave Schachman who scores one on a fielder's choice. Then Ed Russnow singled scoring another, Tony Garrett gets a sack and rookie Rick DelGizzi doubles in another for 10-5 lead. Puleo's is running out of wood and the oven goes cold while Harrigan's continues to dial up runs, 2 in the 5th and 6 in the 6th and the brooms come out to sweep up another Harrigan's win. Puleo's closes up with their first loss of the season. I don't know about you but this writeup has sure made me hungry. Three teams are now tie for first place.
