The Luck of the Irish. Everything was going right for Harrigan's tonight as they cruze to an easy 16-5 win and move into sole possession of 2nd place in the standings. The game started tight through 4, then a costly error open the kitchen for some fast take out. Ralph Avallone got things started with a chopper between short and 3rd that he stretched into a double. He advanced to 3rd on a fly out and scored on a sac fly by Brad Bennis. In the bottom the Station ties it with two outs and none on, Don Jr smacked a homerun into the pine trees next to the courts. In the 2nd Tony Garrett led off with a walk, Brian Quinn singled and one run scored on a fielder's choice. With two outs Ralph Avallone singled to right center and Harrigans is up 3-1. Marty Eagan led off with a single for the Station, then he had to leave for a VCA meeting causing some outfield adjustments. Marty didn't score. Harrigan's takes advantage of the first station error in the 3rd when Alex Lieberman reached on error and scored on a single by the hot Ed Russnow(4-5). Harrigan's leads 4-1. The Station picks up one in the bottom when Mike Levine singled to short left and scored on a single by Jim Morris. Harrigan's is up 4-2 and that's as close as it got. Harrigan's scored 4 more in the 4th then Mario Leitao beat out an infield single, Deron Green dropped a single over short, Ralph Avallone singled in Mario before an error loaded the bases. With a full count Brad Bennis hits a ball down the 3rd baseline that just says fair, nipping the corner third base and scoring 2 more runs. Alex Lieberman sacs in the 4th run and Harrigan's doubles their score 8-2. The Station picks up two in the 4th when Don Jr led off with a triple and scored on a double by Don Sr that landed right up against the fence. Dave Richmond singled home Sr, Harrigan's is up 8-4. Back to back errors in the 5 open the floodgates for Harrigan's as they put up 7 to take a 15-4 lead. They add another in the 6th when Tony Garrett hits a bomb to right center for a triple and scored on a sac by Brian Quinn. In the bottom of the 6th Jim Morris singled and Jared Kruger walked bringing up Don Jr with his first plate appearance with men on base.
