Simon Says "Let's Hit", Kornbluh says "Let's Catch". In the final game of the day Olde Towne Deli's bats were pretty quiet through the first two innings with Josh Simon's bat (3-4) being the only spark. They did manage one run in the first when Ralph Fariello dropped an opposite field double down the line, advanced to third on an error and scored on a sac fly to 3rd (yes 3rd). Harrigan's brought out the big guns in the bottom of the 1st with two outs Ralph Avallone managed to beat out a grounder to short then "big gun" Brad Bennis blasted a homer on his first swing of the season. Harrigan's is up 2-1. Neither team scored in the second despite Josh Simons team awakening liner to center that seemed to even wake up the fans who were busy trying to finish off that second keg. Ed Russnow had a lead off single for Harrigan's in the bottom of the 2nd but didn't score. In the 3rd Old Towne's Jon Weiner singled with one out, moved to 2nd on a walk to Mike Metz and scored with two outs on a single by, you guessed it, Josh Simon. Game tied 2-2. But Harrigan's answered back in the bottom of the third when "axe man" Tony Garrett blasted a deep double over Jon Weiner's head in left. Tony was all pumped up after spending the morning cutting up an oak tree. Tony scored on a single by Ralph Avallone, Lee was too scared to throw Brad Bennis a strike and walked him, after a fielder's choice Ed Russnow put Harrigan's up by two with a single to center. In the top of the 4th, trailing 4-2, Old Towne has a big inning. After an error Ira Robbins and Lee Kornbluh both single to load the bases, bringing up the top of the order. Greg George gets his first hit of the season with a two run single to left center, Ralph Fariello singles scoring Lee. Jon Weiner singles to score Greg and with two outs Josh Simon says "Hit" again with another RBI single, his third of the game. Old Towne is up 7-4 and Harrigan's bats go quiet for the next three innings. Old Towne is not finished scoring as rookie Pete DeFrank leads off with his first LVC single, Ira Robbins singles again and after an out Greg George pads the lead with another single. With two outs, Jon Weiner doubles down the 3rd baseline scoring two more. Olde Towne is up 10-4. Down by 6 in the bottom of the 7th Brad Bennis stays perfect (3-3) with a single, Joe Gianforte singles and with one out Brian Quinn singles in a run. Deron Green walks and with two out, rookie Rick DelGizzi collects his 3rd hit of the day scoring a run and bringing Harrigan's tying run to the plate. Looks like Olde Towne Deli is in a pickle when lead off batter Alex Lieberman singles but the rally ends when Lee Kornbluh stabbed Tony Garrett's scorcher up the middle to end it, with (Ralph Avallone 3-4 and Brad Bennis (3-3) on deck). Olde Towne Deli hangs on to win 10-7
