"O" What a Feeling as Brick Battles Back from a 10-2 Hole. It was the big "O", Ken O'Brien with a 6th inning triple, tying the game at 10, then he followed that up with an 8th inning walk off single to complete the improbable comeback. Harrigan's was fresh early and jumped out to a big lead plating 3 runs in the 1st off singles by Rick DelGizzi and Ralph Avallone. Joe Gianforte doubled in two and Deron Green singled in Joe for a 3-0 lead. They add to their lead in the 3rd after Rick starts it again with an OBE, Ralph Avallone doubled and big Joe Gianforte(4-4) comes through with another double and 2 more RBI's. The last run scores by error and it's the big H up 6-0. Brick's top of the order came up in the 3rd and John Boeckel singled, then an error moves John to 2nd, a deep fly by Lou Coppa moves John to 3rd when Dave Bornstein sacs him home. Mike Cafaro(3-4) singled to score Ryan and it's 6-2 Harrigans. Harrigan's is still hungry and cooks up 4 more in the 4th when Mario Leitao singled, an error and a Mike Amoia double produce 2 more runs and Joe Gianforte singled to give Harriagan's a big 10-2 lead. Things didn't look to good for Brick who was only fielding 9 on this hot day. But Harrigan's overheated and didn't score another run the rest of the day. The Bricks on the other hand were just warming up as John Boeckel leads the 5th off with a single, Ryan Smith singled, Lou Coppa singled, Dave Bornstein singled and Matt Eisenberg sacks in run number 3. Harrigan's is up 10-5, that's still enough right? With Harrigan's bats in the freezer Matt Goodstein singles with one out in the 6th. John Boeckel singled, Ryan Smith singled, a run scores on a Lou Coppa FC and with two outs Dave Bornstein singled and Mike Cafaro fires up the oven with a 2 RBI single, Brick is only down by two. Matt Eisenberg triples in a run and Ken O'Brien tripled to tie the game at 10. Harrigan's gets a single by Joe Gianforte to lead off the 7th, he moves to 2nd on a fly ball but can't score. Brick fails to score two and it's on to the 8th. Can this be true, Dave Bornstein strikes out the side 1,2,3??? In the bottom Mike Carafo gets on with one out, then an error moves him to 2nd where Ken O'Brien the big O on the day, singles to give Brick 46 their 5th straight win.
