Wet Willie's Puts Out Maynard's Fire with a Big 5th. This game started out as a slugfest and after 4 innings Maynard's was up 10-7. But Willie's was getting all the extra base hits except for a homerun by Maynard's Jack Berkowitz, his first of the year. With one out in the 5th, trailing by 3, Shawn Spielberger got his team going with a single. Ryan MacNamara singled and Clay Petry goes opposite and rips a double to right center. With first base open Maynard's elects to walk John Cocchio who already had two doubles in the game. The strategy doen't work as Seth Freidman doubles to tie the game. Ryan Coletti(4-4) also double, giving Willie's the lead 12-10. John Spielberger singles in another and with two out Pat MacNamara keeps it going with a single past short. Adam Raiken singles pushing past Willie's 7 run of the inning as Willie's goes up by 4, 14-10. That 7 run surge put the Maynard fire out and after a hot start, they only manage 1 more hit the rest of the game. Willie's adds 4 more in the 7th on singles by Clay Petry, John Cocchio(3-3), Seth Freidman, Ryan Coletti, John Spielberger, Marshall Baines and Pat McNamara to put this game out of reach 18-10. For Maynards Ryan Smith was 3-4 and Brian Cass, Mike Citron and Jack Berkowitz each went 2-3. For Willie's Ryan MacNamara, John Cocchio, John Spielberger and Pat MacNamara all had 3 hits while Ryan Coletti was 4-4 with 2 doubles.
