Little Willie Willie's Do Go Home in 9-8 Comeback Fashion. It was a great night of softball despite the clouds and drizzle. Three great games with lots of fans including wives, girlfriends and children. We even had a barbecue to go with our beer. It was the young against the old, a bottom of the order comeback and great sportsmanship after several overturned calls. A lot of people left happy after enjoying a great night of classic LVC softball. Check the twitter feed for some slowmo replays.Here's how it started. D'Jais jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the 1st when the speedy Matt Picon led off with a double and scored on a sac fly by Dave Auerbach. With two outs Jason Crimmins(3-3) singled to right, Nick Adams walked and Brian Quinn singled to score run #2. Paul Martino singled in another and Craig Engelhart singled to make it 4-0. Willies got 1 back after Jared Kruger singled, Clay Petry singled and Seth Freidman got his first of two big hits. D'Jais is up 4-1. Willie's ties it in the 2nd when Ryan Coletti, Jake Spielberger, Adam Raiken, Patrick MacNamara and Pat MacNamara hit 5 straight singles. D'Jais plate two more in the 3rd after Dave Auerbach singled, Jay Crimmins doubled to right and Nick Adams hit a sac fly. In the bottom of the 3rd Willie's Matt Shupak singled and with two outs Clay Petry doubled, John Cocchio doubled to tie the score at 6-6. The 5th inning is where "the call" happens. Sal Hakimi singled, Matt Picon singled to right. Mark Spotto singled in Sal to put D'Jais up for a 3rd time. Dave Auerbach scores a run on a fielder's choice and Jason Crimmins singled to right and Dave Auerbach tries to sneak home when the short stop left the ball on the ground. But the throw comes home and it's close. The home plate umpire was caught up the line and calls Dave safe but after some discussion with the field umpire Marty Eagen the call was reversed to out. D'Jais handled the reversal well and the replay does look like the throw just beats the runner. D'Jais goes up 8-6. In the bottom of the 6th Willie's is down by two and with two outs Jared Kruger singled. Clay Petry singled to left and the throw in gets by the shortstop, the pitcher and is fielded by the catcher up the 3rd base line. Jared Kruger slides in safely to third then dashes home since there was no catcher. Willie's is down by 1 8-7. D'Jais can't turn the lineup over in the 7th and Wet Willie's starts the bottom of the 7th, trailing by one, with their senior part of the order.  Seth Freidman led off with a big double, putting the tying run on 2nd. Then John Spielberger singled to tie the score.   Ryan Coletti singled and with two outs Patrick MacNamara comes through with a walkoff single that was almost caught in right center.
