Headliner's Can't Hold On. Once again the Headliner's start out strong, leading 10-3 in the 3rd. With the score 10-6 in the 4th Maynard's loads the bases for Ryan Smith. He hits a rather shallow fly ball to center and on the tag up the Headliner's throw the ball out of play, costing them two runs. Maynard's takes a 12-10 lead in the 4th but Headliner's put up 3 in the 5th to get back on top 13-12. John Boeckel, David Plishka, both single. Dean Sotile doubled and Lou Coppa had a sac to tie it. Bob Plishka pushes ahead run # 3 with single and for the final time in the game, Headliner's had the lead. But Maynard's manager Ron Liebowitz answered with a double after Kay Kiele and Hadar both single. Both runs scored to put Maynard's up for good. Then Greg Espperson breaks the game open with a bases loaded triple. John Boeckel was 4-5 and Lou Coppa and Bob Plishka were both 3-4 for Headliner's. Rich Citron was 4-4, Mike Citron was 3-3, Ron Liebowitz was 3-4 and everyone else on Maynard's had two hits.
