Rooney's Storms Past Maynard's 16-6 in Key Playoff Hunt Game. Everything was going right for Rooney's tonight and they even got some help from the weather. Rooney's got off to a big start putting up 4 runs in the 1st and 7 in the 2nd. It was the bottom of the order that got things started in that big 2nd when Josh Berliner and Kevin Zabransky Jr(3-3) both singled. That brought up the top of the order who did exactly what they did in the 1st inning. Rich Cobuzio, Jason Lew and Brad Hartung all singled and Adam Steckleman hit a sac fly. Kevin Sr was also hot, going 3-3 with a sac fly. After 5 Rooney's built a 16-6 lead but Maynard's started off hot in the top of the 6th. You won't see it in the box score because the league wanted to roll the inning back. But Rich Citron singled, Ryan Smith doubled and Greg Espperson walked. The with one out Mke Citron singled in 2 but the lightning started and put the breaks on a Maynard's comeback.
