Rookie Matt Siekierka's 2 Out Double Put the Icing On the Cake. Corleone's pitcher Hadar Sieradzky was having a Cake Walk till the bottom of the 6th inning. Corleones were leading 4-2 after Ken O'Brien doubled home David Plishka(3-4) in the 1st. Hadar showed some muscle and trippled to score Mark Spotto, then rookie Mike Lawlor(3-4) singled to give Corleon's a 4-1 lead after 4. Johnny Cakes John Boeckel lead off the 6th with a walk and with two out Pete DeFrank singled to close the gap 4-3. Then the game changer came when rookie Matt Siekierka blasted a 2 run double to left to give Johnny Cakes its first lead of the game. Clay Petry singled in another and after John Weiner singled, rookie Lee Udin(3-4) singled to push the lead to 7-4. Corleone didn't score in the bottom and Johnny Cakes adds one more in the 7th after Marshall Bains, Jason Rhodes(3-4) and Sammer Sawe all single to load the bases. Pete DeFrank(3-5) hit an RBI singled and Johnny Cakes blows out the opening day candles with a 8-5 comeback win.
