Alex Lieberman Leads the Irishman to 6th Straight Win. 10-6 over Winter Hill. Winter Hill jumped out to a 5-3 lead after 3 on key hits by Mark Davis, John Petrozzino, Lou Coppa, RJ Leonard, Alec Vigil(2-3) and Mark Fedele(3-3). Trailing 5-4 in the top of the 5th, the bottom of the Irish lineup comes up big again as they have done all season. James Morris and Alex Lieberman(3-3) both singled bringing up John DeLuca. John singled to tie the game at 5-5. After a double play Ralph Fariello picks up another big two out run scoring single and the Irish take the lead 6-5. Defense was the key in this game again for the Irish. First baseman Steve Deblasio made another key play in the bottom of the 4th that could have changed the game. With runners on first and second Steve made a diving stop on Jim Halpin and flipped the ball from the ground to the pitcher covering first for the final out of the inning. Jeff Brooks made some great plays at short. Winter Hill also had a good game in the field with Jim Halpin making a diving stop up the middle, Abe Heller scopped a scorching shot to rob Aric Bernstein and RJ Leonard scooping several balls in the dirt at 1st. Nobody will forget the grab that Mark Davis had in deep center, robbing Aric Bernstein of at least a triple. The Irish were holding a slim lead in the 7th when Alex Lieberman bombed a triple scoring Calvin Kwock who singled to start the 7th. Alex scored on a great base running play off a fielder's choice and the Irish hold on to win another close one, 10-6.
