Goodfellas Give La Kosher Nostra The 7th Inning Shakedown. In the first of two great games this Sunday, La Kosher Nostra fought back with 5 runs in the 6th to take a one run lead into top of the 7th. Trailing 8-4 Mike Metz started the 6th with a solo homer. Pat McNamara singled followed by Max Metz(2-3)who singled and Malachi Metz(3-3) who hit a huge double to put the tying run on 2nd. Greg Auerbach singled to tie it at 8-8 and Ken Nemeth dropped a single to right to give LKN a one run advantage. In the top of the 7th Goodfellas Jason Lew(4-4) led off with a single, Brad Hartung singled up the middle and Jon Cocchio was walked to load the bases. Derek Lynn hit a sac to tie the score and Len Tarnoff saced in another to put Goodfellas up by one. With first base open and two outs, LKN pitched to Dave Reiss who singled to score another. Jared Kuroptakin(3-4) also singled to put Goodfellas up by 3 12-9. Would it be enough with LKN's top of the order coming up? Brain Cass singled and probably the play of the game as Jason Lew snagged a hard Jay Glickson ball in the gap and threw the running out at second. A single there would have brough up Mike Metz as the tying run at the plate and who knows what Goodfellas would have done with Mike. With just one runner on and up by 3 Jon Mach pitched to Mike and he laced a line drive right to the left fielder for an out. The next batter grounded up the middle and Jon Mach snagged it for the final out. Goodfellas puts another win in their books. Goodfellas is now 2-0 since putting their cugine Aiden Mach at leadoff. He was 3-4 today with 2 runs scored. LKN showed up for this one and almost pulled off the upset. Malachi Metz(3-3) and Brian Cass(4-4) were both perfect at the plate. They just need a few more batters to get hot and they could go on a run.
