The Irishman Blank Goodfellas 6-0 in Pitcher Duel. Somebody got a game ball from manager Jim Morris. Let's find out what happened in this defensive battle. The Irishman picked up one run in the bottom of the 1st after Aric Bernstein(2-3) doubled with two outs and Don Trifari(3-3) singled him in. Goodfellas threatened in the 2nd after Dave Reiss walked and tried to take third on a single by Jake Tarnoff(2-2). But Aric Bernstein threw a strike to third to nail Dave for the 3rd out. Neil Ascione and Jason Berkowitz both singled for Goodfellas in the 3rd, but a double play ended the threat. In the 4th Goodfellas Aiden Mach singled and with one out Brad Hartung singled. Derek Lynn walked to load the bases with 2 outs but the next batter grounded out. The Irishman finally turn the order over in the bottom of the 4th. Ryan Smith singled with one out, Aric Bernstein singled and Don Trifari singled to score Ryan. Ralph Fariello singled in another, Steve Deblasio singled to score Don and with two outs Jim Morris had a run scoring single and the Irish spring up to a 5-0 lead. Goodfellas has another chance to score in the 5th when Jake Tarnoff blasted a deep shot to left center that Aric got a glove on but couldn't hold on. It could have been a triple but Jake somehow fell rounding 1st and was helded to a single. The next batter reached on an error but with Jake on 1st he didn't score. The Irishman pick up one more in the 6th on a sac fly by Ralph Fariello and hold on to win 6-0. The Irishman only outhit Goodfellas 11-9 but were able to string them together for 6 runs. Believe it or not, the Irishman's last win was back on June 17th. Jim Morris gave the game ball to Don who thanked God for the shutout.
