The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. The Good: Aiden Mach goes 3-3 with an inside the park homer and 4 RBIs. The Bad: Goodfellas has bases load with no outs in the 7th but doesn't score. The Ugly: Corleone wins on a walk off error after trailing by 1 with 2 outs and nobody on in the bottom of the 7th. This game started with Corleone taking a 1-0 lead in the 1st after Dave Plishka(2-3) walked and moved to 3rd on two fly outs. With 2 outs Ken O'Brien singled to score David. Goodfellas answered in the 2nd after Dave Reiss singled, Len Tarnoff singled and Aiden Mach(3-3 4RBIs) singled to score Dave. Dave Plishka made a great play on a deep shot by Jared Kuroptakin and Len tags to 3rd. Neil Ascione singled to score Len. Goodfellas is up 2-1. Corleone picks up 4 in the bottom of the 2nd when Hadar Sieradzky singled, Josh Simon who had a great day going 4-4, singled. Frank Chioccariello reached on an error and Nick Catanese singled in two runs. Rich Fardo singled in another, Dave Plishka singled to load the bases with no outs. Brad Bennis hits a sac fly and Corleone takes a 5-2 lead. Neither team scored again till the 5 when Len Tarnoff(3-3) singled and scored on Aiden Mach's homer. Corleone still leads 5-4. Now it's on to the 7th and Goodfellas is down 1. Jon Cocchio leads off with a double, Dave Reiss singled off the 3rd baseman's glove. Len Tarnoff singled off the short stops glove on what could have been a double play but tied the score at 6-6. Aiden Mach blooped in a single to right that scored Dave to give Goodfellas a 1 run lead. So now it's bases loaded, no outs and Goodfellas can pad their lead. But the next batter strikes out and the following batter hits into a double play to end the inning. Can Goodfellas hold on with a one run lead and the #3 batter due up? The first two Corleone batters fly out and with two outs and the game on the line it looks like Corleone needs a good Lawlor to win this battle. That's Mike Lawlor who singles to pick up his 3rd hit to give Corleone life. Hadar is up next and hits a hard shot to third that's bobbled but the quick throw to 2nd is in time but just wide of the bag and all runners are safe. It's nail biting time. Next up is Josh Simon who was struggling all game Saturday but is tonight is having a good game so far going 3-3. Simon says hit and that single up the middle scored pinch runner Ken O'Brien to tie the game. Josh was saving his hits for tonight when Corleone really needed them. Frank Chioccariello comes throught with a big single to left to bring up bases loaded, 2 outs with the score tied 6-6. Nick Catanese who already has two hits tonight is up and he hits a slow chopper in front of the pitcher, Jon fields it but it pops out of the glove and all runners are safe. Corleone wins 7-5 and has now won 6 straight games with only 9 players to move one game behind Goodfellas and La Cosa for that 2nd place playoff bye. Goodfellas has a makeup game Monday night against the rallying Johnny Cakes while Corleone and La Cosa both have 2 games left.
