Game Highlights

Mets Clean Up the Hens 21-5. The Hot Mets continue their impressive run, tearing through the Hens with 27 hits. Mr August Pete DeFrank(3-4) is ripping the cover off the ball and Ricky Beyer(4-4) has got his grove back. Rob Thomas(4-5) even ripped a double that almost hit the left center fence. We had to stop the game for a urine test to see if Rob was juicing. This game was close till the 5th inning tied at 5-5. Jason Rhodes led off the 5th with a single, then after a strike out, Pete DeFrank laced a single. Derek Margiotta singled to load the bases for Rick Beyer who broke the game open with a deep triple to right center. The Mets put up 5 more in the 6th before Aric Bernstein ripped a line drive up the middle that Kevin Zabransky got his glove up just in time to catch. The ball was hit so hard that Kevin fell over backwards (see video). The win pushes the Mets record up to 13-4 but they still did not clinch 1st place yet since the Pandas only have 3 losses. The loss puts the Mud Hens in a big hole at 8-11, they need to win their last game next Thursday against the Bananas to have a shot at the playoffs. Not sure about tiebreakers.
