Pirates are trying to Steal the 2nd Seed from the Pandas with 16-11 win. Neil Ascione's 3rd inning homer, with the Pirates trailing 6-2, sparks a 5 run Pirates inning. The Pirate momentium continued in the 4th and 5th innings as they built a 16-8 lead. They hang on to win 16-11 and now are just 1/2 game back from the Pandas for second place seed and still have a shot for a 1st place tie with the Mets. Pirates will be tested this Sunday against the first place Mets, should be a good one.
