Panda's Get Trashed By the Hens in Opener. Rooster Greg Espersen (2-3) woke the Hens up with a lead off single in the 1st and Craig Engelhardt followed with single of his own. After an out that advanced both runners Bruce Dostal drove a hard single off the glove at first to score the season's first run. Keith Blicht sacked in another and Jeff Brooks drives in the 3rd run with a 2 out single. Jim Morris singled and Mug Naveendera singled in the 4th Mud Hen run, Hens are up 4-0. Pandas don't show up till the 6th inning and things get interesting but prior the Hen's are busy putting up a run in each of the next 3 innings. Jerry Fragetti who lead all batters today going 2-2 with an RBI, scored in the 2nd off a single by Greg Esperson. Aric Bernstein walked and scored on a single by Keith Blicht in the 3rd and rookie Dimitri Rassias scored after Dave Jensen and Jerry Fagetti both singled in the 4th. Hens are clucking with a 7-0 lead in the 4th before they start laying eggs. The Pandas finally come out of hibernation in the 6th after Alex Lieberman doubled and scored on a Ryan Smith single. Rob Guilbert singled in Ryan, Brad Bennis walked and Tom Clougher singled to score two more. Deron Green singled in Tom and we have a game, the Hens are up just 7-5. The Hens don't score in the bottom of the 6th but hold on in the 7th to take the opener 7-6. (note: I think the score was really 8-6 and there was a scorekeeper error).
