The Mud Hens Lay an Egg and the Patroits Shell them with 24 runs in 5 Innings 24-0. I've been waiting all season to use that line and the goose egg was the season's first shutout. Paul Martino was in a zone, holding the Mud Hens to just 3 hits. More than half of the Hens only batted 1 time. The Patriots defense also sparkled today with zero errors, even in the last inning when the guys switch positions, Calvin Kwock made two stellar plays at shortstop. 3 Patriots were 4-4 including Lou Coppa, Bret Hartman and Dave Auerbach who's 3 homeruns and 8 RBI's put his face back on the LVC leader board for the first time this season. I don't know what got into these Patriots but they put together perhaps the best single game performance of the season so far. Maybe Captain Stappas was going to make them get vaccinated if they lost another game. lol. 30 hits in just 5 innings, let's see which Patriot team shows up next Thursday against the Trash Pandas.
