Horan the Man Blows Down the Pigs House with 3rd Inning Homer. Ken Horan had the big blows tonight with an RBI double in the 1st, 3 run HR in the 3rd and Sac Fly in the 5th = 5 RBIs while Jon Mach kept the pigs penned in, allowing only 10 hits and shutting down the 3 big Pigs, Weiner, Hartung and McNally who were a combined 1 for 9 on the night. The Pigs scored first after John Boeckel(2-3) singled, Frank McNally singled and Jim Halpin doubled home John, But the Bananas bettered that with 6 runs in the bottom after Clay Petry(2-3) doubled, Kurt Heim(2-3) had an infield single and Jason Wertheimer (2-3) singled home Clay to tie the game. Levi Henninger(2-3) singled in Kurt, Jason Hamberger(3-3) helped with another RBI single, Aidan Mach(2-3) drove in another with a single before Ken Horan hit his first Blow, an RBI double. Jon Mach pitched in with a sac fly and it's 6-1 Bananas after 1. The Iron Pigs cut the lead in half in the 2nd on singles by Chuck Puleo(2-3), Jason Benson, Greg Kohn and Mike Heisheimer. The Bananas don't score so it's 6-3 Bananas after 2. Pigs go down 1,2,3 in the 3rd and the Bananas take advantage when both Jasons single and with 2 outs comes the big blow, Ken Horan huffed and he puffed, OK maybe he had a cigarette before he got up, but he delivered a deep shot to straight away center for an inside the park 3 run homer. That put the Bananas up 9-3. The Pigs manage to score one more run after Jared Bruno doubled to start the 4th and scored on a single by Cluck Puleo. In the 5th the Bananas put the Pigs on ice with 4 more runs starting with another Clay Petry double followed by a single from Kurt Heim that ended up in a crazy rundown with 2 throwing errors that allowed Kurt to score. Levi Henninger, Jason Hamberger and Adan Mach followed with singles before Ken Horan picked up his 6th RBI of the night with a sac fly. The Bananas are up 13-4 and that's how it ended. The once 4-0 Iron Pigs have now lost 4 of the last 5 and have seen their straw house blow away, somebody call a mason! Meanwhile the Bananas are slipping up in the standings and are now just one game behind the 1st place Mets. In other news the streaming and scoreboard should be back online tomorrow.
