Pigs Get Roasted by the Pirates 16-1 in 5. The Pigs are only fielding 9 players but the Ghost Pirates were loaded for their double header and turned up the heat in the 1st inning. Mark Davis(3-3) got things started with a lead off double, Jason Lew(2-3) singled and the Pirates are up 1-0. Jason Lew somehow made it to third where he was saced in by Max Metz. Malachi Metz(3-3) doubled and scored on a sac fly by Dave Reiss. Pirates 3-0 after 1. No score in the 2nd. With one out in the 3rd the Pirates turn over their 13 player lineup and Mark Davis and Jason Lew both single. Max Metz drifts a deep fly that just clears the fence for a homer. Malachi Metz drives a ball throught the left center gap and legs out an inside the park homer and the pig roast was on. Jake Berliner, Jason Berkowitz and Shanth Subbiah were all 2-3 and Jeff Shupach and Dave Richmond were 2-2. The Pigs only had 4 hits for the game and managed to plate one run in the 4th when John Boeckel, Frank McNally and Jon Weiner all singled. Chuck Puleo got the last Pig single in the 5th but the Pirates turned a double play to prevent the Pig order from turning over and maybe getting back into the game. Pirates can rest abit before their 2nd game at 1:30.
