Trash and Macon, Two Top Teams, Collide In Battle for 1st Place that ended in a walk off sac fly. Rich Fardo was the iron man for Macon tonight going a 4-4 with 3 RBIs,two of those coming off a huge bases loaded double in the 7th when Macon was trailing 7-11. This was right after he got run over at first on a hard collision at the bag and had to leave the game briefly. He later scored the tying run when he tagged on a sac fly by Matt Eisenberger. Macon put up most of their runs in the 1st and last innings with their 7th inning 7 runs comback erasing a 11-6 defecit. Macon took a 2 run after Danny Fariello hit a cluch 2 out single. Macon was up 13-11 lead going into the bottom of the 7th, but some bad hops allowed the first two Trash batters Ryan Smith and Rob Guilbert to both reach safely. A bad throw even put the tying run at second with no outs. Tom Clougher(2-3) and Jacob Lieberman(3-4) both singled and the game ended on a deep sac fly by Alex Lieberman. Macon fights back but comes up short and the Pandas stay in first place with the hard fought victory. The Panda's best inning was the 5th, when trailing 6-4 they rallied behind two doubles by lefty's Ryan Smith and Rob Guilbert. I believe the Spielberger's broke an LVC record with 4 members of the same family playing in the same game. Macon out hit the Pandas 18-16 but 6 walks and 5 errors hurt them. Sadly there will be no BACON songs after this one.
