The Hot Pirates Sink the Mud Hens Ship 18-7. The Pirates out hit the Hens 26-12. Just about every Pirate had a hit including Jason Lew(3-4), Malachi Metz(3-4), Shanth Subbiah(3-4),Greg Auerbach(3-4) and Justin Shupach 3-4 with an inside the park home run to tie the game in the 2nd. The Hens, trailing 4-0 in the 1st, put up 5 runs to take the lead on singles by Craig Engelhardt,Aric Bernstein,Nick Adams, Pat McNamara, James Morris and a double by Dimitri Rassias. But Justin's lead off homer in the 2nd quickly tied it and the Ghost Pirates put up runs in every inning to put this game away. The hot Pirates have won 4 straight games after starting the week in 2nd to last place; they now sailed up to 5th with an 8-6 record. For the Mud Hens they now extend their losing streak to 5 games and drop down to 7th place in the standings. On a plus note for the Hens, Nick Adams made a spectacular catch from short into short center and narrowly escaped a 3 way collision (see photo and twitter highlights).
