The Hens Put Up a Dozen, but the Rail Riders Crack 17 to Keep Their Slim Playoff Hopes Alive. There were a lot of errors in this game on both sides, maybe it was the heat, or maybe not. The Rail Riders got some big help from the lower half of the lineup today. Ron Liebowitz, Bob Vogt and Joel Orris all were 3-4 with 2 RBIs each including some clutch 2 out RBI singles in the 3rd when Rail Riders broke through the Hen house door with 9 big runs. The Hens fought back when, after 2 errors, Greg Espersen delivered an inside the park grand slam through center to put the Mud Hens down by only 4, 12-8. But the Rail Riders answered back in the 5th with 4 more runs, highlighted by a big Kay Klele triple after Mike Lawlor returned from China to drill a much needed lead off single. The win is the 2nd straight for the Rail Riders bringing their record to 7-8 with 5 games remaining.
