The Rodeo Has Begun, Cowboys Shoot Down the Patriots 18-7 after trailing 7-0 in the First Inning. Cowboys combine for 23 hits including 5-5 from Rick DelGizzi and 4-5 from Barry Davis. Mark Spoto was 3-4 with 5 RBIs. In a crazy start the Patriots stormed out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning after a leadoff walk to Bret Hartman followed by 5 straight singles. With two outs Ben Alkin doubled in the 7th run and it looked like the Pats were on their way to another Cowboy mercy; but not this time. The Cowboys came back firing off pitcher Vince Wolleon who was throwing strikes. Barry Davis singled, Rick DelGizzi doubled and Mark Spoto sacked in a run. Alec Vigil, Steve Horowitz and Brian Quinn all single, then with 2 outs Rich Kirkpatrick singled in 2 and Josh Simon singled in another, and before you know it it was 7-5 and the Cowboys were pumped up. The Patriots did not score another run all game and the Cowboys kept scoring. They tied it in the 2nd after Barry Davis doubled and Rick DelGizzi tripled and after a slow 3rd inning they added 4 more in the 4th and 5th. With the loss the once hot Somerset Patriots pick up their 10th loss and must win 4 of their last 5 games to have a shot at the post season.
