Another Starry Night as the Stars outshine the Tornadoes 17-14. Stars manager Brad Bennis goes deep for his third HR of the season while Greg George picks up 3 hits and 3 RBI's. Casey Nix, Bob Plishka and Eamon Lougham each pick up three hits for Newark. Trailing 10-9 in the 5th Brad Bennis hits a three run shot and then the controversy. Down 12-10 in the bottom of the 5th, Tornadoes had two runners on when Casey Nix hits a shot to deep left that hits the foul pole but remains in play for a single. There was lots of discussion but it was ruled that the ball hit the foul pole just below the top of the fence so it was not ruled a HR. In the top of the 7th the Stars pick up 5 runs on 6 hits and a walk. Mario Leitao hits a spinner that lands between the pitching mound and home plate for a single. Top of the order for the Stars and the next 6 batters all get on. The Stars hold on to win this one 17-14.
