How Many Koonjys Does it Take to Get a Win? Answer: It takes 3 Koonjys. Peach Pit finally gets their first win 13-9 over the Alibi Room. This was the first game that all 3 Koonjy brothers played together and they all contributed. Mike Koonjy led off the bottom of the 1st with a double followed by a single by Jason Crimmins, Brian Koonjy reached on error and Tony Garrett smacks a 2 run double. Jason Hamberger follows that with an RBI single and the Pit is up 3-0. Alibi picks up one run in the 2nd when Alex Lieberman singled, Rick Fardo singled and Jesse Ferro picks up the sac fly. Pit fails to score in the bottom of the 2nd and leads 3-1. With 2 outs Jared Citron singles and Jason Abfier strokes an opposite field home run to tie the game 3-3. Ralph Avallone doubles for Pit, followed by a Jason Crimmins(3-4) home run. Brian Koonjy follows Jason with a homerun of his own and Pit wasn't finished yet. Tony Garrett singles, then after two outs Mike Amoia(2-3) singles and the third Koonjy Christopher gets a key RBI single. Then came the big blow, Jim Watkins doubles over the outfield's head to score two more. Pit leads 9-3. Alibi Room picks up two in the top of the 4th when Rick Fardo singles, Jesse Ferro walks and Cliff Neukrug singles and scores a run, the second run scores on a Seth Mendelson fielders choice. Pit leads 9-5. Again Pit manager Ralph Avallone(2-4) leads off with a hit, Jason Crimmins singles, Brian Koonjy(2-3) walks, Tony reached on error, Jason Hamberger singles again and after two outs Chris Koonjy(2-3) delivers another clutch run scoring hit, this time a double scoring Tony. Pit leads 13-5. Alibi room picks up another two runs in the 6th and 7th but Peach Pit wins this one 13-9. For the Alibi Room Rick Fardo was 4-4, Jason Abfier and Alex Lieberman were both 3-4 and Joel was 2-4.
