Beagles Finally Show Some Hart in 19-9 Upset. Brett Hartman's bases loaded triple in the 5th inning broke the heart of the Martini's as the Beagles rallied for 10 runs to take a 18-6 lead. When the inning began the game was close with Regal holding on to a 2 run lead. Jared Bruno and Frank McNally already homered for the Martini's and the score was 8-6. Lou Coppa led off the 5th for the Beagles with a homer followed by a double by Dennis O'Dowd, single by Greg George and walk to Dave Richmond to load the bases. Cliff Berliner got on by error to score one run and the Beagles were up 10-6. Then Brett Hartman delivered the big 3 run blow and the Beagles were finally smelling victory. With 2 outs Ralph Fariello singled, Pat McNamara doubled in one, Mike Metz singled in another, Jeff Axelrad singled, and Lou Coppa who homered earlier in the inning singled in Mike, Greg George singled scoring Jeff and the 10th run in the inning. Dispite Frank McNally's 3-3, 5 RBI night, the Martini's didn't have the legs to chase the Beagles. For the Beagles Dennis O'Dowd was 3-3, Greg George was 3-4, Ralph Fariello was 3-5 and Lou Coppa was 2-3 with a homerun, walk and sac. The Beagles only out hit the Martini's 18-14 but the Martini's gave up 6 walks and 4 errors vs 1 walk and 0 errors for the Beagles. The defense for the Beagles was solid tonight as they finally learned how to go fetch those balls. Good Doggie!
