The Station is Playing Dance Music With 12-5 Win. The Station became the final team to secure a spot in the Big Dance. Don Jr was miraculously back in the lineup for the Station and connected on a pair of homers, the 2nd a 3 run shot after Rails had just cut the lead to only 3. Lance Zacker(4-5) was leading off for the Station today and singled in his first atbat. Jared Kruger had an infield single and Don Jr(3-4) singled to score Lance. Don Sr grounded to Jared Bruno at first who stepped on first and threw to second for the reverse double play. Rail's answers with four straight hits by Brian Godau, John Sanzone(4-4) and Bruce Dostal who drove in two before Bob Fass(2-3) singled. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Andy Reiser turns a big double play with Don Jr to end the inning. The Station's bottom of the order comes through in the 2nd when Ralph Aiello(3-4) singled, Andy Reiser(3-4) singled and Mike Levine ties the game with a line single to left center. WIth two outs Andy Boyer(2-3), who drove back from the shore to play, singled to give the Station a 3-2 lead. Lance Zacker singled in a third run and it's the Station 5-2. In th bottom Rail's Rich Heim(2-3) singled, then an error and Chris Capobianco single loaded the bases with one out. With Rail's top of the order coming up, Jim Morris snagged a low liner at 3rd and pick off the runner at first for another big, inning ending double play. The Station gets two more in the 3rd when Don Jr hit a solo homer, Don Sr(3-4) doubled and scored on a single by Jim Morris. The Station is up 6-2. Rail's top of the order didn't score in the bottom and the Station adds two more in the 4th. Andy Boyer singled, Lance Zacker hits his 3rd single, Jared Kruger singled to load the bases with one out. After an infield fly Don Sr singled past 1st and two more runs scored. The Station now up 8-2. Rail's gets one back on an inside the park HR by Kyle Godau and the Station fails to score a run in the 5th leaving the door open for Rails. Michael Bedell surprises everyone with a deep blast to left center for a lead off double. With two outs John Sanzone slaps a single through the empty short stop for an RBI and Bob Fass scores a second run with a line single to left. Rail's cuts the lead to 8-5. With runners at 1st and 2nd Jared Bruno represents the tying run at the plate. Jared rips a liner to left field but Don Jr had moved all the way back to short field and robs Jared of an RBI single. The Station is holding a 3 run lead 8-5. Andy Boyer walks to lead off the 6th, Lance Zacker stays perfect with another single, then with one out Don Jr homers over the Christmas trees in right. The Station is up 11-5. Don Sr doubles in the courts and scored on another single by Jim Morris to take a 12-5 lead and that's how it ended. With the win Columbia Inn clinches the 2nd seed and a playoff bye. Defensibly Larry Friedman made some great plays at 1st and they were chanting Larry, Larry all game. Mike Levine treated everyone to some pizza after the game.
