Columbia Inn Breaks Up Rails Party With 12-9 Upset. Columbia Inn makes it two in a row as a big 8 run 5th inning derails Rails bid for 2nd place. Rails came on strong in the 1st when Brian Godau singled, batting leader John Sanzone singled and with two outs Bob Fass(2-3) singled in the first run. Jared Bruno followed that with a 3 run homer and the Rails party is now in full swing, 4-0. In the 3rd Columbia is finally adjusted to the Rails party hats and Mike Cobuzio gets things going with a one out single. David Drillings follows with a single, Wally Kamienski walks and Gary Drillings comes up big with a two run single. Mark Fedele singles in another run and the Rails lead is cut 4-3. Rails is busy enjoying their party and doesn't notice that Columbia Inn just picked up 8 runs in the 5th. Mike Cobuzio starts it again with a single, David Drillings walks, Wally Kamienski singled to tie the game. Then after an out Mark Fedele sacks in the go ahead run and Columbia has its first lead and they are not finished yet. With two outs Eamon Loughran singled and Ken Nemeth singled in another run. Kevin Zabransky singled in the 4th run, Kevin Jr singles in run number 5 and the late arriving Rick Beyer doubled in another. Johathan Drillings caps off the inning with a two run single and Columbia is up 11-4. Rails manages one run in the bottom when Christian Hansen hit a solo homer and they get a big 3 run homer in the 7th but that's it. Mark Fedele had a great day for Columbia with a 3-3 night and 3 RBI's, as did manager Wally Kamienski who also was 3-3. Ken Nemeth was 3-4 and David Drillings was 2-3. Big win for Columbia as Rails loses their spot at the top of the standings and drops all the way down to 5th place.
