Red Barn Falls Off The Cliff in 15-14 Come From Behind Loss. Red Barn was leading the entire game until Cliff Berliner ties it with a single in the bottom of the 7th. Playing with only 9 the Barn was having their way with Michael Angelo's all game. In the 1st Hadar (4-6) singled, Jim Halpin singled and Brian Koonjy doubles to deep right center scoring Hadar. Len Tarnoff(4-5) singled in another and son Jake Tarnoff(4-5) drove home the final run of the inning. The Barn is up 3-0. In the bottom of the 2nd Angelo's ties it when Brian Cass and Bob Plishka(3-3) both single and Mike Citron drive home the first Angelo run with a single to left. Another run scored on an error and Jared Citron ties it with a single. Angelo's won't score again till the 5th. The Barn takes the lead again in the 3rd when Len Tarnoff doubled home Brian Koonjy who singled to start the inning. Barn is up 4-3. In the 4th Red Barn puts up 5 on hits from Nick Adams, Hadar, Jim Halpin, Len Tarnoff, Jake Tarnoff, Jesse Ferro and Chris Koonjy. They add another in the 5th when Len Tarnoff singled home Mike Koonjy to take a 10-3 lead. But Michael Angelo's David has the big hand in the bottom of the 5th after father Bob singled, David drills a homer in the right center gap. Abe Heller singles in another and Angelo's is chipping away 10-6. It looks like the Barn would bring home the bacon in the 6th after Jesse Ferro singled, Nick Adams walked on an illegal pitch call (see twitter feed), Hadar singled to load the bases. Then Jim Halpin hits a shot down the right field line that takes a crazy bounce off the foul pole scoring three more run. Brian Koonjy sacks in Jim and the Barn looks like they would walk away with an easy win up 14-6. Michael Angelo's first two batters make outs in the bottom of the 6th and Jon Mach had pulled himself out of the lineup with an injured finger so it's back to the top of the order. So what can happen with two outs and nobody on? Plenty. Jeff Axelrad skips to second with a stand up double, Rich Citron singles him in. Then Keith Blicht(2-3) takes advantage of an empty left center with a run scoring triple, Brian Cass drives one up the middle to score Keith and there is still more to come. Bob Plishka doubles and with 1st open and two outs, up by 5, the Red Barn elects to walk Dave Plishka. Mike Citron draws a run scoring walk, then Jason Abifier steps into an outside pitch and drills a 3 run triple to right center for the 7th run and bringing Angelo's within one 14-13. The Barn gets singles from Jake Tarnoff and Jesse Ferror to lead off the 7th but the closer Bob Plishka gets a foul out and two fly outs to end the threat. So here we are, bottom of the 7th and Michael Angelo's needs a run to tie and two to win. Abe Heller(2-3) takes advantage of a big hole at second base for a single and Jesse Ferro pulls his hamstring trying to field the ball. Cliff Berliner is up with no outs and the tying run at 1st and drills a single down the left field line, the short fielder tries to throw the runner out at second but the ball is high and goes into right field allowing Abe to come all the way home to tie the score (actually Abe's runner). Dean Sottile hits a ball off the 1st basemans glove and Cliff advances to 3rd. So the winning run is on third and Ron Liebowitz is up looking for his first hit of the season. Ron gets it though not as he planned. He hits a short fly between the catcher and first that's going to bounce foul but hits the catchers leg and stays fair. The runner at third held even though nobody was guarding the plate. Jeff Axelrad drills a shot at short that was too hot to handle and Michael Angelo's walks off with an amazing comeback 14-15. I think Keith Blicht is still hanging out at the field enjoying this one. See twitter highlights.
