Chris Hanson Rides the Pony Express to 16-11 Win. Chris Hansen, who 1s now batting ahead of Bruce Dostal in the lineup, was 4-4 in this game to lead the Ponies with 2 doubles, a solo homer and 3 RBI's. Stone Pony must have had a team curfew this Friday night as they started strong in the first inning putting up 7 big runs and batting right through the lineup. The Godau's, Brian(4-5) and son Kyle(3-4) got hits and Bob Fass singled them both in. Chris Hansen drove in Bob with a double. Then Jared Bruno, Frank Coppola, Rich Heim and Mike Bedell combined for 4 straight singles leading to 3 more Pony runs and a big 7-0 lead. Headliner's don't score in the bottom and in the 2nd Kurt Heim tried to stretch a triple into a homer and was called out at home on a very close play. The Headliner's bounce back in the bottom of the 2nd iwth 3 runs after Lou Coppa led off with a double and Bob Vogt, Dave Kaiser, Greg Kohn and Malachi Metz all single. Stone Pony wins the 3rd with 3 runs after Bob Fass, Chris Hansen both single and Bruce Dostal doubled into the courts. Frank Coppola singled in Bruce and Stone Pony is up 10-3. In the 5th Stone Pony increased their lead by 2 after Chris Hansen led off with a homer and Bruce Dostal, Jared Bruno and Mike Sabat all single. The Headliner's make it interesting in the bottom of the 5th when Greg Kohn led off with a single and after an out there were 5 straight hits capped with another Lou Coppa 2 run double. The Headliners cut the lead to just 2 but can't hold the Ponies who put up 4 more in the 6th. Stone Pony wins this one 16-11.
