It Ain't Over Till The Music Plays. Down to their last out, the Irish comeback to beat the Headliners 7-6. The Irish couldn't get anything going till the live band started to play. Trailing 6-0 in the bottom of the 6th, they push across two runs when a fly ball to center allowed both runners to advance. Keith Blicht made them pay with a single that got by the outfielder to score two runs. In the bottom of the 7th, trailing by 4, the Irish get some lucky breaks. Rick Delgizzi gets things started with an infield single to 2nd and a bad throw to first. Gary Drillings gets on by error and with one out Fred Heinsmeyer grounds a ball through short and third for his first hit of the game. That loads the bases for Ben Alkin who hits one off the end of the bat that falls in behind third. The Irish are down 6-3. Jonathan Drillings hits are hard grounder that gets bobbled, but the runner went back to 2nd and was thrown out at 3rd for the 2nd out. A run scored so it's 6-4. Marty Eagen gets a big 2 out singled by 2nd to load the bases again for Frank McNally. Frank singles to center and the Irish Pub ties the game. On the relay the Headliners try to nip the runner at third and the ball gets away allowing the winning run to score. The Irish win 7-6 and stay alive in the playoff hunt.
