The Irish Strike Back. In the 2nd game of the double header the Irish get cracking. They hold Triton scoreless in the first when Derek Margiotta's foot came off the base at 2nd. Jonathan Drillings got it started with 1 out single, David Drillings(4-4) blasted a shot that hit the side fence in the tennis court. Rick Beyer drilled a shot that scored 2 Drillings. Al Puleo and Marty Eagen both singled and Al scored on a throwing error. Rick Delgizzi sacked in a 4th run. The Irish are up 4-0. Triton picks up one in the 2nd with two out after Ralph Aiello, Eric Rosenberg(3-3) and Jigar Desal all single. The Irish scored one in the 3rd when David Drillings singled and scored on a sac by Marty Eagen. Irish is up 5-1. Triton gets 3 in the 4th after their long lineup finally turns over. Larry Freidman and Jerry Fragetti(2-2) both single and with two outs Derek Margiotta(3-3) burned the shift and doubled to center. Don Trifari singled in another and another run scored on a throwing error. The Irish is up 5-4 after 4. The hot David Drilling starts the 5th with a single, Rick Beyer singled and Al Puleo (3-4) singled down the left field line to score David. Marty Eagen singled and Rick Deigizzi hit a pop to third that could have been called an infield fly but was dropped. Then Gary Drillings hits the shot of the game. A deep bomb to left that almost hit the fence to score 2 more runs. The Irish are up 9-4. But Triton makes it close in the 6th. With 2 outs Jerry Fragetti singled. Then Brad Botelho, VInce Wolleon and Derek Margiotta singled to scoring two runs. Don Trifar singled in a 3rd run and Triton is down just 2, 9-7 and RJ Leonard is up with 1st and 2nd, two outs. RJ drives a deep shot to left that's going, going and snagged by Chuck Puleo as he leaps and hits the fence. He holds on after bouncing off the fence and hitting the ground to end the inning. The Irish Pub pick up 4 more in the 6th and take the 2nd game 13-7.
