Medigans Get Pinched by the Irishman 16-9. Medigans had it all going their way early, up 9 big ones to 2 in the 4th and all their defensive shifts were paying off. Craig Engelhardt(3-4) was a tough out all day, he singled and scored in each of his first 3 atbats. Medigans put up 2 runs in the first on singles by Matt Eisenberg and the hot Jesse Ferro(3-4). Medigans came packing some heavy hits in the 3rd after Craig Engelhardt singled and Victor Cardona crush a double off the fence in left center. Nick Adams lined a triple past a diving Ryan Smith. They add 3 more in the 4th on another big hit by Nick Adams down the line for a double. The Irishman gave them two more on a mishap at 1st. So it's 9-2 and everything is going the Medigans way till Irishman Calvin Kwock led off the 5th with a walk. Those leadoff walks always kill you. With one out the hot Dave Kaiser singled and the Irish turn the lineup over to lead off batter Ralph Fariello who singled to load the bases. Ryan Smith singled in one and Aric Bernstein walked in a run. Don Trifari hit a sac fly and then with two outs, the big hit by Steve Debiasio with runners on 2nd and 3rd pulled the Irishman closer, only trailing now 7-9. In the bottom of the 5th, the Medigans ran out of amo. The Irish found that pot of gold in the 6th after Jame Morris(3-4) led off with a single and Medigans D made another error. Down 2 rookie Calvin Kwock clocked a rainbow over the left fielders head for a double. Dave Kaiser walked and Ralph Fariello singled to tie i. Ryan Smith drilled a single to score two more which gave the Irish their first lead of the day. Aric Bernstein blistered a double to score another. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Don Trifari hit another sac fly and Steve Deblasio singled to push across the 8th run of the inning. James Morris gets his 2nd hit of the inning before it was over. To quote the Medigans manager "that is what an enema feels like". Lol The Irishman battle back to take this one 16-9
