Eisenberg Puts the Hit on Corleone While Tony Garett Does His Monkey Business. Trailing 3-0 with one out in the bottom of the 6th, Medigans' Matt Eisenberg found the gap in the Corleone's short handed defense. His triple sparked a 3 run, 6th inning comeback. The Corleones were playing with only 9 and got on the board early in the 3rd when David Plishka singled and after an error, scored on a single by Mark Spotto. Rich Fardo(1-2) hit a sac fly and Corleone is up 2-0. They pick up another run in the 5th when Rich Fardo doubled and scored on a sac by Chris Capobianco. The Medigans on the other hand were struggling to find any gaps while Hadar Sieradzky had a 5 hit shutout going with one out in the bottom of the 6th. After Matt's Eisenberg triple Jason Hamberger (2-2) helped with a single to score Matt. Medigans are on the board 3-1. With two outs in the 6th, Greg Esperson singled to right and Victor Cardona singled to bring up the hot Jason Crimmins with bases loaded. Jason singled to score 2 and tie the game, but a good relay nailed Victor going to third. So it's on to the 7th, tied 3-3. Corleone failed to score and the now awakened Medigans are smelling the blood in the water. Medigans Don, Nick Adams, crafted a crazy lineup that looked like maybe he picked names out of a hat. Batting 4th, Nick led off the 7th with a line out to center. With 1 out Nick's lineup pays off, batting 5th, Mario Leotao singled and Eric Stivers followed with a ball just past Hadar up the middle. Craig Engelhardt hit a gapper to short that Mark Spotto tried to nail Nick Adams (running for Mario) at third. It was a very close play and Nick was ruled safe. So with base loaded the next batter hits the shortest ball in LVC history. It stuck in the mud about 1 inch from home plate, the catcher fields it and touches home, but didn't try for the double play. That brings up Tony Garrett(2-3) batting 9th, with two outs and the winning run at third. Tony didn't monkey around with this one and singled past a diving Mark Spotto for the walk off game winner. Medigans wake up just in time to pick up a much needed win, 4-3.
