Corleone Avoids a Late Rat Attack With the Help of Their Subs. Corleone's top 3, Dave Plishka(3-4), Mark Spotto(3-3) and Brad Bennis did all they could to help get Corleone's back in the playoff hunt. David led off the bottom of the 1st with a single, he scored after singles by Mark Spotto(3-3) and Brad Bennis(2-2). Corleone is up 2-0 after 1. But the Rat Pack have their young rats in the lineup and Kyle Godau(3-4) singled to start the 3rd. Father Brian singled and after a costly Corleone error, somehow Rich Heim singled in 4 runs. The Rats are up 4-2. In the bottom of the 3rd Nick Catanese(2-2) rips a one out single. Dave Plishka followed with a single and Mark Spotto singled to score Nick. Brad Bennis hit a sack fly and the game is tied 4-4. Corleone takes the lead in the 5th, again after a Nick Catanese and Dave Plishka both single, this time Mark Spotto doubles to put Corleone up 6-4. In the 6th Corleone gets 2 more when Mike Lawlor led off with a double, Rich Fardo singled and Hadar Sieradzky helps his cause with an RBI single. Nick Catanese hits a sack fly and Corleone is up 8-4 going into the 7th. Frank Coppola, and Bruce Dostil both single and then two errors later Corleone is only leading by 2. But fortunately the Rat Packs subs were overheated from playing an earlier game in the heat and made the last two outs before Kyle and Curt had a chance to tie this thing up. The Rat Pack subs were a combined 1 for 8. Corleone hangs on to win 8-6.
