Goodfellas Burn the Cakes in the Bottom of the 7th. It was an exciting, back and forth game you might want to checkout on the video replay. Goodfellas Derek Lynn's(2-3) 2nd inning solo homer was the only score till the top of the 4th. Trailing 1-0 Johnny Cakes's Pete DeFrank reached on error and with one out John Weiner doubled into the courts. That brought up Ryan Goodrich(3-4) who's single and two RBI's put the Cakes up 2-1. Ryan would continue with big hits all game. Goodfellas answers right back in the bottom with the new ball. With one out Jason Lew(3-3) doubled and Brad Hartung(2-3) tied the game with a triple to deep center. Jon Cocchio singled and Goodfellas is back up 3-2. The Cakes get whipped in the 5th when Jason Rhodes doubles but doesn't score. Goodfellas takes advantage and Jake Tarnoff leads off with a single. Jared Kuroptakin doubled in Jake and Jason Berkowitz singled to score another. Goodfellas is up 5-2. Johnny Cakes 10 player batting order turns over again to start the 6th and Pete DeFrank leads off with a single. Clay Petry singled and John Weiner doubled, this time down the left field line to score Pete. Then its Ryan Goodrich again coming through with a double off the fence in right to tie the score at 5-5. Lee Udin singled to score Ryan and give JC another lead 6-5. Again Goodfellas answers right back. With one out Jason Lew singled, Brad Hartung singled and Jon Cocchio tied the game with a single of his own. Then another big blast by Derek Lynn, a triple to push Goodfellas up by two, 8-6. Dave Reiss singled in Derek and that brings up the 7th inning with Goodfellas up 9-6. With one out MV Pete DeFrank hits an infield blooper that falls in for a single. The sidelines erupted with chants of MP Pete. Clay Petry gets on by what's called an error in the book? Not from the replay I saw. Clay rips a ball down the third baseline for a clean double. That brings up John Weiner who scorched a one hopper down first that somehow Jared Kuroptakin scoops for the 2nd out. Then with two outs, trailing by 3, Ryan good game Goodrich tripled in the deep part of right field. It was a very close call at third (see the replay). With the tying run on 3rd Lee Udin comes through with a clutch single to tie the score at 9-9. Neil Ascione starts the bottom of the 7th with a blooper that the short stop could not hold on to and he beats the throw to 2nd for a double. With one out Clay Petry makes a diving grab on a line dive by Jon Mach. Jim Watkins rips one through the wickets at third to bring up Chuck Puleo with 2 outs and the winning run on third. Chuck sees the big gap down first and drills a single down the line and Goodfellas advances to the semi finals Sunday at 2:00 vs La Cosa.
